2016 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet Fashion: The Best, Okay & The Worst

As promised, here is my entry about the glitz and glamour that took place in the red carpet of this year’s Golden Globe Awards. This may be a week late but whatever, I’ll still be posting it. I have made all the effort of looking for high quality photos of the stars who walked down the red carpet and gave all their best in posing in front of group of photographers.

Some of the A-List women in Hollywood, as well as the rising stars, have flocked the red carpet in their designer gowns and dresses with fancy jewelries that made their look outstanding. But unfortunately, not all of them. Here’s a rundown that I have made on the looks that are outstanding, playing a little safe and total disaster. It’s basically the best, okay and worst dressed list. Hahaha!

BEST: These are the stars who have carried their dresses and gowns so well that no further review is needed. Charot! I believe some of the looks were custom made by the designers just for that night. How lucky these bitches are to be able to wear expensive garments for a short amount of time, ‘no? I envy them. We all do.

Emmy Rossum in Armani Prive dress, Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry and Roger Vivier bag

Hands down, the best dressed star of that night. Going for the classic, old Hollywood glamour look is always a winner. What I love about this dress is that it fits Emmy perfectly. Yes it may look plain and simple at first sight. But the more you try to look at it, the sooner you’ll realize that it’s a stunning look and Emmy gave justice to the dress. And can we just take a moment and appreciate the necklace that made her look totally perfect? Kudos to her stylist!

Brie Larson in Calvin Klein Collection dress and Tiffany & Co. jewelry

The winner of Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her role in the critically acclaimed film “Room”, Brie Larson totally looked like one perfectly gilded woman in her Calvin Klein Collection dress. Good thing that she wore her hair down.

Cate Blanchett in Givenchy Haute Couture, Tiffany & Co. jewelry and Roger Vivier bag

If there’s one major A-Lister in Hollywood who can wear a Haute Couture dress effortlessly, that would definitely be Cate Blanchett. It’s like she was born to wear designer couture dresses and gowns in the red carpet. And this Givenchy Haute Couture dress on her is no exception. She always exudes glamour for me in every awards season that she’s at.

Saoirse Ronan in Yves Saint Laurent Couture dress and Chopard jewelry

Saoirse looks like a Greek Goddess in this white Yves Saint Laurent Couture dress. Totally digging this! And her face, it’s perfection. Most especially her eyes.

Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton

At first glance, Alicia’s dress is a reminiscent of your mother’s curtain or table cloth. Hahaha! But I have learned to love it. And it’s Vuitton. Nuff said. LOL!

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior and Chopard jewelry

Dior and J Law is an unbeatable tandem in the red carpet of every awards season. And this one is no exception.

Kirsten Dunst in Valentino Haute Couture dress and Fred Leighton jewelry

Lady Gaga in Atelier Versace dress and Neil Lane jewelry

Rosie Huntington Whiteley in Atelier Versace

Taraji P. Henson in Stella McCartney

OKAY: Stars who belong to the “Pretty Safe” lane. No “Wow!” or “Now that’s it!” factor in their looks. “Alright, next please.” is the perfect phrase for these.

Kate Winslet in Ralph Lauren Collection dress, Neil Lane jewelry and Jimmy Choo shoes

Amy Adams in Atelier Versace dress and Neil Lane jewelry

Amy Schumer in Atelier Prabal Gurung

Olivia Wilde in Michael Kors Collection dress and Bulgari jewelry

America Ferrera in Jenny Packham dress and Simon G. jewelry

Lily James in Marchesa dress and Harry Winston jewelry

WORST: How should I give my own description for these looks without sounding too mean? Okay, let’s just say that these are the stars who basically have tried their best to look great and stunning. But in reality, their looks unfortunately belong to a group called “The Unfortunate Ones”. Hahaha! Sorry..

Emilia Clarke in Valentino Haute Couture

It’s like she was actually headed to a Costume Party but instead, she has decided to come to the Globes first to let everyone see how ugly her dress was. Better luck next time, Ms. Emilia.

Viola Davis in Marchesa

I love Viola Davis and I think she’s a terrific actress but this Marchesa number screams A-W-F-U-L. It’s too matron-ic.

Katy Perry in Prada gown and Harry Winston jewelry

Kate Hudson in Michael Kors Collection dress, Forevermark jewelry and Jimmy Choo bag

Rooney Mara in Alexander McQueen dress and Fred Leighton jewelry

Kate Bosworth in Dolce & Gabbana

Leslie Mann in Monique Lhuillier dress, Irene Neuwirth jewelry and Tyler Alexandra bag

Julianne Moore in Tom Ford dress and Chopard jewelry

Jada Pinkett Smith in Atelier Versace dress, Van Cleef & Arpel earrings and Jimmy Choo shoes
